Private Funds Help Increase Pay of Community-College Presidents
The pay of community-college presidents rose by 3.1 percent this academic year, to an average base salary of $130,615, according to a preliminary report of the results from a survey commissioned by the American Association of Community Colleges and released last week at its annual meeting here.
Community-college foundations, which some institutions have created in the face of cuts or restrictions in government support, were generous when they were able to help out with base salaries
