Private Colleges Spend Most on Recruitment
Four-year private institutions spent about $2,073 to recruit each new student in 2005, more than four times what four-year public institutions spent and 28 times what two-year public colleges spent, according to survey results released this month by Noel-Levitz, a national consulting firm.
According to a report summarizing the survey's findings, median recruitment spending per student was $455 at four-year public institutions and $74 at two-year institutions.
