Prevent Drinking Now, or Pay a Price Later

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology's very public, if belated, mea culpa for its role in the death of Scott Krueger confirms what the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention has long been saying about colleges' legal liability for student drinking and hazing ("M.I.T. Pays $6-Million to Settle Lawsuit Over a Student's Death," September 29). Colleges can pay now by making the financial and pedagogical commitment to changing the campus
