President of Struggling Medical University Abruptly Resigns
Susan A. Kelly, the president of Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science, announced her resignation Friday after a tumultuous three-year period in which the historically black institution lost its teaching hospital, began an ambitious recovery and expansion, and then saw its resources dry up as the state and national economies deteriorated.
