President of Oregon College Quits Over Unauthorized Loan
The president of Lewis & Clark College resigned this month after details became public about an unauthorized $10.5-million loan he made two years ago to a now-bankrupt energy company.
Michael J. Mooney, who has been president at the private college in Oregon for 14 years, will step down at the end of August. He will take a yearlong sabbatical and return to Lewis & Clark as a professor. An interim president has not been named.
