President of ACE to Step Down; Real-Estate Scholar Moves Across Town, to UCLA; Indiana U. Picks Chief of Flagship Campus to Lead System
SEEKING FREEDOM: David Ward, president of the American Council on Education, announced last week that he would step down from his post in February 2008.
Mr. Ward, 69, has led the council, which represents more than 1,600 higher-education institutions, for five and a half years. He plans to stay in Washington and consult, write, and lecture on higher-education issues.
