President Settles Suit Against Southern U. Board
The president of Southern University, Ralph Slaughter, has agreed to drop a whistle-blower lawsuit against the system's Board of Supervisors as part of a settlement that could include a $200,000 annual supplement to his salary for two years.
Mr. Slaughter filed suit in May against the board, its chairman, Johnny G. Anderson, and Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco of Louisiana, for whom Mr. Anderson is a top aide. The lawsuit claimed that they had retaliated against Mr. Slaughter for having
