President Reimburses Chicago State U. for Improper Expenses

Elnora D. Daniel, the Chicago State University president who last month described her housing allowance as “chump change,” has paid back $8,654 to the university in response to a state audit that criticized her use of college funds for restaurant meals, alcohol, theater tickets, and travel, including a “leadership seminar” aboard a Caribbean cruise ship for herself and five family members, according to today’s Chicago Tribune. —Andrew Mytelka
