President Pulls Article From Student Newspaper

The president of Loyola University New Orleans angered staff members of the student newspaper this month when he quashed an article about the sudden departure of a music professor.

In April, reporters at The Maroon began looking into rumors that Scott Fredrickson, a professor of music and coordinator of the college's music-business program, was leaving Loyola. A front-page article, with the headline "Chair's firing shrouded in secrecy," was scheduled to appear in the May 9
