President Nominates 2 for Key Slots at Education Department
The Education Department isn't likely to neglect higher education after all.
When Roderick R. Paige was named education secretary, higher-education officials didn't know quite what to expect. Mr. Paige, a former superintendent of schools in Houston, spent much of his recent career focusing on elementary and secondary education.
But President Bush wants to fill the other top slots at the department with some faces familiar to academe. He recently nominated Eugene W. Hickok Jr.,
