Powerful Groups Involved in Affirmative Action

I read with great interest your article "Behind the Fight Over Race-Conscious Admissions" (April 4). I appreciate the level of influence that you attribute to the American Civil Rights Institute and other groups opposed to racial preferences in education. I implore The Chronicle, however, to recognize the strength of the organizations dedicated to keeping racial preferences.
