Postal Rates to Rise for Colleges and Other Nonprofit Groups
The U.S. Postal Service last week announced a set of postage-rate increases that would sharply raise mailing costs for colleges and other nonprofit organizations.
Under the plan, which faces review by the Postal Rate Commission, the cost of a first-class stamp would rise by just a penny, but nonprofit groups would face percentage increases in the double digits for periodicals and some bulk mailings.
