Possible Hazards of New Revenue Sources

I read with interest your report on the presentation -- at the annual meeting of the National Association of College and University Business Officers -- on alternative sources of revenue for small colleges ("Dorm Renovation and Competition Draw Attention at Business Officers' Meeting," The Chronicle, July 22). Certainly small colleges can creatively utilize facilities to maximize revenue. But hopefully those colleges can also afford risk-management teams, for
