Politics Embroils Israeli College
A government plan to upgrade an Israeli college in the West Bank to university status is politically motivated and in violation of the country's higher-education law, 24 faculty members at other Israeli universities argued in a petition they submitted last month to Israel's Supreme Court. But officials of the College of Judea and Samaria, located in the settlement of Ariel, responded that the petition itself is politically motivated.
