Political-Science Courses Neglect Warfare and the Military, Scholars Say at Annual Meeting
Undergraduate political-science courses should include much more material about warfare and the American military, scholars said here last month during a round-table discussion at the annual meeting of the American Political Science Association.
The speakers complained that many political-science majors leave college with no understanding of military culture, the bureaucratic structure of the U.S. Department of Defense, or the constitutional underpinnings of civil-military relations.
