Political Correctness or Principles?
To the Editor:
Administrators in higher education need to decide whether they are interested in policy built on principles, or policy built on expedience and political correctness. For instance, "gender equity" ("California State's Division I Colleges Struggle to Meet Gender-Equity Goals," June 4) and "disparate impact" ("Civil-Rights Office Questions Legality of Colleges' Use of Standardized Tests," May 28)
