Investigators have yet to find a connection between the woman who shot and killed two fellow students on the Baton Rouge campus of Louisiana Technical College on Friday before turning the gun on herself.
Police officers have learned that Latina Williams, the shooter, purchased a .357 revolver and a box of ammunition the day before the murders, according to a news release from the Baton Rouge Police Department published on the college’s Web site. Investigators also deterrmined that Ms. Williams had been living out of her car and had recently sold or given away many of her possessions.
“The specific motive behind the shooting and the selection of the victims remains unknown and may never be known,” according to the release. The police planned to continue their investigation through next week. —Eric Hoover
