Pointing the Finger of Blame in the Wrong Direction
To the Editor:
Eugene W. Hickok also needs reform ("Higher Education Needs Reform, Too," School & College, March 10). ... He is right in his diagnosis about higher education: It needs help. Unfortunately, in diagnosing the problem, Hickok manages to point his finger at just about everyone and everything except the Bush administration for which he used to work.
Hickok says a good part of the problem lies with faculty members, who "regard undergraduate teaching as a bother."
