Given the popularity of carnage in video games, it would be forgivable to think that a title like PeaceMaker was meant ironically. But unlike most games, the point of PeaceMaker, a simulation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, is to limit violence.

"The idea was to prove you can make an engaging game-type environment on a serious topic," says Eric W. Brown, one of the game's creators.
