Plan for a Statewide Computer Network Stirs Controversy in Wisconsin
When plans for a new $100-million statewide computer network in Wisconsin triggered a power struggle over its design between the University of Wisconsin System and other state agencies, officials were forced to rethink the network.
Though the revised blueprint, issued last month, met with cautious approval from most or all of those concerned, the struggle delayed the project by about six months, and bruises from the fight remain.
