Performance Value
A moving aria can elicit tears. An exuberant dance can inspire joy. And a really dull play can put you to sleep. When it comes to assessing the value of a live performance, ticket sales and attendance figures don't tell the whole story.
Emotions can linger after the curtain is drawn. Or intellectual debates may rage over intermission snacks. These things may be harder to measure, but, as a recent study shows, not impossible.
