Performance Poetry Arrives on Colleges' Web Sites

Just as funk, rock, and revolution energized literary artists of the 1960s, technology and the Internet are reawakening poetry. The Net not only offers young poets and spoken-word artists a global audience their predecessors only dreamed of, but also spreads news of "slams," hypertext verse, and even sites featuring the sonnets of Shakespeare.
