Perceptual Drawing Still Basic

I was taken aback by ... Laurie Fendrich's implication that there has been a steady decline in art students' interest in classes where perceptual drawing is taught ("The Importance of Perceptual Drawing in the Age of the Keyboard," The Review, November 17). As a studio professor at an urban community college, I have witnessed a growth of interest in both our for-credit drawing classes and our noncredit figure-drawing courses. ...
