Pennsylvania Rejects Lehigh Restaurant's Bid for Liquor License

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board has denied Lehigh University's bid to put beer and wine on the menu of a campus restaurant, pointing out that it would have been a strange time to grant the request.

"Given the fact that we had [an alcohol-related] riot at Penn State in July and several deaths on Pennsylvania campuses, this is not a decision I particularly agonized over," said John E. Jones III, the board chairman.
