Pennsylvania Coaches Avert Strike
The union representing 350 coaches at the 14 state-owned universities in Pennsylvania reached a contract agreement last month with the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
The coaches' new four-year contract, which is subject to ratifying votes by the coaches and by the system's board, would give full-time coaches a $1,250 cash payment at the beginning of the 2007-8 academic year and annual raises of 2.25 percent in each of the next four years.
