Penn to Help Philadelphia Build a Public School
The University of Pennsylvania is working to improve town-gown relations by helping to build a public school.
Penn will lease land to the School District of Philadelphia for $1 a year and will contribute up to $700,000 a year for 10 years to support an elementary school. The district will finance construction. Penn also will provide academic support through its Graduate School of Education and other divisions
