Penn TA's Win Right to Form Union
Graduate assistants at the University of Pennsylvania last month won the right to form a union. The ruling is the latest in a string of decisions by National Labor Relations Board officials holding that certain students can be considered university employees.
Organizers of Graduate Employees Together-University of Pennsylvania, which is affiliated with the American Federation of Teachers, were thrilled by the decision. They had filed a petition seeking to form a union 11 months ago,
