Penn State U. Allowed Sex Offender to Play
A Pennsylvania State University football player competed in a January bowl game despite having admitted in a campus judicial proceeding to having sexually assaulted a student during the fall semester. The player, Anwar M. Phillips, was suspended for two semesters, but university officials said he was technically eligible to compete because the suspension did not begin until the spring semester.
