Mark Bauerlein's interesting piece, "The Two Cultures Again: Tilting Against Objectivity" (The Review, November 16), raises a good question about whether the humanities misconstrue or misunderstand the processes by which the sciences achieve objectivity. I agree with his assessment that scholars should exercise great care when applying their own idiosyncratic disciplinary standards and mores to dissimilar fields.
