Peace Corps Seeks 4,000 New Volunteers
The Peace Corps announced this month that it was seeking 4,000 more volunteers this year, on top of the 6,700 who now serve, to meet increased demand for its help in Africa, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.
For the current fiscal year, Congress gave the organization an appropriation of $240-million, an 8-per-cent increase over last year's $222-million.
