Pay Delay Puts a Pinch on Scores of Graduate Assistants at U. of Florida 1

Dozens of graduate assistants at the University of Florida did not receive their first paychecks of the semester on time last Friday, and it remained unclear days later when the students might receive them.

University officials attributed the delay, which has affected as many as 80 graduate students, to glitches in the payroll system and said that individual departments were requesting emergency checks for students who are affected.
