Patients' Groups Form Coalition to Urge Support for Stem-Cell Research

Twenty-two patients' groups have formed the Patients' Coalition for Urgent Research, to urge Congress to back stem-cell research.
Last fall, scientists announced that they had grown human embryonic stem cells in a laboratory for the first time. The potential applications for those cells include treatments for Alzheimer's disease and juvenile diabetes.
