Patient Dies in Study at Johns Hopkins U.
A volunteer in an asthma-related study at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine has died, school officials acknowledged this month. Johns Hopkins indefinitely suspended the study because of the death, which has prompted a review by federal officials and is likely to spur more soul-searching among scientists and ethicists about the safety of human research subjects.
