Parties Reach $2.85-Million Settlement Over SAT Scanning Errors
If you take the SAT and receive a lower score than you deserve because of a test-scanning error, you are entitled to: (a) $275, (b) more than $275, or (c) less than $275. Choose one.
Last month the College Board, which owns the SAT, and NCS Pearson, the company that scans the answer sheets, agreed to pay $2.85-million to settle a class-action lawsuit stemming from glitches that affected the scoring of the SAT given in October 2005. About 4,400 students received incorrectly low scores
