Panel Urges Uniform Methods for Development of Biomedical Research Centers
The National Institutes of Health should develop uniform methods for starting and reviewing programs to finance biomedical-research centers at universities and other scientific institutions, a federal panel said in a report released last week.
The call for better planning comes at a time when the NIH is pushing to expand interdisciplinary and clinical research, some of which is conducted through centers.
