Panel Urges State Lawmakers to Take the Lead in Higher-Education Reform
State legislators must take a leading role in reforming higher education to make college more accessible and to better meet state needs in a competitive global economy, says a report issued last week by a bipartisan panel of the National Conference of State Legislatures.
In its report, "Transforming Higher Education: National Imperative — State Responsibility," the group's 12-member Blue Ribbon Commission on Higher Education calls on state lawmakers to set a public agenda
