Panel Says Foreign Drug-Trial Subjects Should Get Post-Study Care
Drug trials conducted by American researchers in foreign countries should offer treatment to participants in those studies even after the research has ended, the National Bioethics Advisory Commission said in a report last month. The commission also said that any research in a foreign country should deal with its health needs and directly benefit local residents.
