Palestinian Educator Resigns From Arafat Cabinet

The Minister of Higher Education of the Palestinian Authority, Hanan Mikhail-Ashrawi, resigned last month, following a cabinet reshuffling. She criticized Yasir Arafat, the Palestinian leader, for not making serious reforms in the Palestinian administration. He had offered her the tourism-and-archaeology portfolio, which she turned down.
