Pakistan to Create 10 Information-Technology Institutes
Pakistan's president, Pervez Musharraf, announced last month that the government planned to overhaul the nation's system of higher education, and that information technology and engineering would be given the highest priority.
In two speeches delivered at the University of Karachi, he said the government would emphasize information technology, engineering, and the biological sciences in order to meet the industrial needs of the country.
