The philosophy department at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania has five full-time faculty members, even though few students there major in the field.
In fact, just one student graduated from that university with a degree in philosophy in 2008, according to data from the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, which includes East Stroudsburg among its 14 institutions.
