Pa. Private Colleges Share Performance Data
To the Editor:
"Data Collection Advocates Weigh Progress Toward Accountability" (The Chronicle online, March 11) noted that Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell told participants at a conference that in his state, "private colleges have been reluctant to share data on how their students perform." He went on to speculate that this was because the colleges feared that the data would show that private-college students performed no better than students at public universities.
