Budget request

  • For 2006-7, the first year of the biennium, $1.1-billion, a 6.8-percent increase. For 2007-8, $1.2-billion, a 6.5-percent increase over the 2006-7 request.

Outlook for budget request

  • Mixed. During the last legislative session, higher education was the only major sector of state government where the General Assembly approved substantially more spending than Gov. Ernie
