Oracle Tries to Swallow PeopleSoft in Hostile Takeover Bid
Oracle Corporation made a hostile $5.1-billion takeover bid this month for PeopleSoft Inc. If the deal goes through, it could put pressure on colleges using PeopleSoft's administrative software to convert to Oracle's competing software or to seek alternatives.
