Open U.'s American Spinoff Finds Interest in Shakespeare and Computer Programming
Just over a year ago, Britain's Open University announced plans to begin offering an Americanized version of its distinctive distance-education program through a U.S.-based sister institution, the United States Open University. To run the nonprofit operation, trustees of the new university chose as chancellor Richard S. Jarvis, who since 1994 had been chancellor of the University and Community College System of Nevada.
