Forging a relationship with that lone multimillionaire alumnus can make or break a campaign for most colleges

Last October when Google bought YouTube for $1.76-billion, Chad Hurley, one of the video-sharing Web site's three founders, instantly became a multimillionaire. With a cut of $345.6-million in Google stock, the 29-year-old entrepreneur also became Indiana University of Pennsylvania's richest graduate.

So when Mr. Hurley returned to his alma mater in western Pennsylvania
