On Some Campuses, a Population Boom of Adjuncts

Faculty who are teaching off the tenure track now make up about 70 percent of instructional employees. Here's how adjuncts' ranks have grown at a sample of four-year institutions across the United States.


Note: Figures do not include graduate teaching assistants. They also do not include medical school faculty, except for Virginia Commonwealth U.
