On Parental Leave, Men Have It Easier
More universities are offering paid leave to both female and male professors after the birth of a child. But men who take time off perform much less child care than their female counterparts.
So says the first chapter of a new book, Taking Sex Differences Seriously (Encounter Books), by Steven E. Rhoads, a professor of politics at the University of Virginia. According to Mr. Rhoads, 26 percent of all colleges and universities offer paid parental leave beyond the six weeks of maternity
