On Climate, Colleges Should Set an Example
To the Editor:
"Cash-Strapped Colleges Defer Climate-Commitment Responsibilities" (The Chronicle, March 6, 2009) reports that colleges — even those that have signed the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment — are failing to prepare emissions reports. Instead more focus is being given to the economy.
It is easy to see that the two great problems facing our nation are the decline of the economy and the degradation of the environment.
