Ohio Governor Calls for a Cap on Tuition Raises
Despite opposition from college leaders in the state, Ohio's governor last month proposed reinstating tuition caps on public colleges after a few institutions used a two-year hiatus to increase tuition by 18 percent or more for new students.
Bob Taft, a Republican, said he would ask the state's General Assembly to impose a 6-percent cap on tuition increases at most public colleges. Ohio State University would get a 9-percent cap, to allow it to catch up with tuition levels at the other
