Ohio Ends Oversight of Central State U.
Gov. Bob Taft of Ohio announced last week that the state was ending its financial oversight of Central State University because the historically black public college had overcome the various management problems that got it into deep financial trouble in the mid-1990s.
On a visit to the campus, Mr. Taft, a Republican, said, "Central State now stands on solid financial ground for the first time in many years."
As a result, he said, it was no longer necessary for the state's Office
